China Danxia

China Danxia was inscribed as a World Natural Heritage Site in 2010.

China Danxia comprises six locations:Danxiashan in Guangdong, Jianglangshan in Zhejiang, Longhushan in Jiangxi, Taining in Fujian, Langshan in Hunan, and Chishui in Guizhou. It is a landscape system characterized by steep cliffs, red-colored landforms, densely incised valleys, spectacular waterfalls, and clear streams. It is the most important natural habitat for the in-situ conservation of biodiversity.

China Danxia is a prominent example in the earth's evolution history, representing significant geological development processes or remarkable geological and geomorphological features recorded in the history of life and landscape evolution. Danxia represents a specific stage in the development of continental crust in a region, and it also prominently represents the ecological and physiological processes of evolution and development of terrestrial, freshwater, coastal, and marine ecosystems, as well as flora and fauna communities.
